Otakon 2012 Egbert Painting Demo File by TsaoShin Otakon 2012 Egbert Painting Demo File by TsaoShin
Sorry it took so long to get this online! I meant to upload it when I put up the lineart demo file but it slipped my mind.

Downloadable PSD file includes sketch, progress layers, and finished image. Resolution has been reduced to meet file size limitations on deviantART.

This file was used during my workshop at Otakon 2012: Digital Painting Crash Course.

Watch the video of the workshop here: [link]

Created in Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Download the lineart demonstration version of Egbert here:

Not sure if it's already been asked, but is the lineart in the psd free to use (with credit of course)?

Egbert! That reminds me of the great week I spent at the Jazz Workshop in Hilden, Germany. I was watching the video of your workshop during some of the midday breaks. Gonna watch it again though, to get an better idea on how to archive a better texture with brushes (other than the soft round brush. That's sorta my "comfort zone" ^^;). Enjoyed the video very much!
I really like the glow on his skin/scales and the blue color makes an awesome contrast to the red background.
Beautiful picture.

Thank you very much and thanks for watching the video!  Hopefully it was helpful, I didn't have too much time to spend on each topic and I feel like I rushed it ><

It is really helpful. I tried to implement all the information you gave in the video in my latest drawing.
Well, it's not your fault if you don't get more time for such a workshop. ^^ Don't worry.
